Request a Quote

Send your poultry equipment list or project brief and we will come back with pricing, availability and the next steps. If you are planning a new house, adding cages or updating a processing room, we can help you match the right equipment to the job.

What to Send With Your Quote Request

The quickest way to get a useful quote is to send a clear list of what you need, even if it is only rough at first. A short brief helps us see whether you need laying-hen cages, incubators, brooders, feeders, drinkers, abattoir equipment or a full poultry project package.

If you are not sure how to word it, send the basics and we will work from there. We quote every day for growers in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Free State and KwaZulu-Natal, so a simple WhatsApp style list is often enough to start.

  • Number of birds or trays required
  • House size in metres, or the room dimensions
  • Age of birds or type of production
  • Power supply details and any load-shedding concerns
  • Water source, pressure and storage
  • Site location and access for delivery

How We Price Poultry Equipment and Projects

Pricing depends on capacity, layout, installation needs and whether the job is a straight equipment supply or a full turnkey build. A small incubator order is very different from a multi-house laying operation with feeders, drinkers, egg handling and service access built in.

For project work we also look at floor finish, drainage, ventilation, electrical points and the route for future expansion. On many sites, getting the house layout right first saves time and rework later, especially where the municipality wants proper sanitation and drainage details before work starts.

We keep pricing practical and itemised so you can compare options. If there are budget limits, say so upfront. It is often possible to phase a project in stages, for example start with the house structure and core equipment, then add training, spare parts and extra output lines later.

Step by Step From Enquiry to Quotation

Once we receive your request, the team reviews the site details and matches them against current availability. If anything is missing, we will ask for it before sending a quotation, because a rushed quote can lead to wrong sizes or the wrong duty rating.

  1. Send your list or brief to info@johnfmarshall.co.za
  2. Include your town, province and preferred time frame
  3. We confirm the scope and ask for any missing measurements
  4. We prepare a quotation with equipment options where needed
  5. If required, we arrange a follow up for site planning or a technical call

For larger poultry projects, we may also request photos of the site and a simple sketch. That helps us pick the right installation approach and check if access roads, power points or water storage need attention before delivery.

When a Site Visit Makes Sense

Some jobs can be quoted from drawings and a list. Others need a site visit, especially where there are uneven floors, old housing, tight access or an active production area that cannot stop for long. In Jet Park, Boksburg and across Gauteng, we often see sites where the existing buildings need small changes to suit new equipment.

A site visit is usually worth it if you are fitting out a processing room, expanding a poultry house, or replacing older equipment with higher capacity units. It also helps in coastal areas and hot inland sites where humidity, ventilation and corrosion have to be considered from the start.

  • New build poultry houses
  • House upgrades and expansion work
  • Processing room fitout
  • Projects with limited power or water
  • Sites with access or height restrictions

What Happens After You Get the Quote

After you receive the quotation, you can accept the full scope or select the items you want to move ahead with first. If you need adjustments, we can revise the list and update the quantities. That is normal on poultry projects, because plans often change once the layout is measured properly.

If stock is required urgently, tell us before you confirm. Availability can change on feeders, drinkers, spare parts and processing equipment, so it helps to know whether you are working to a planned build date or trying to replace a failed unit quickly. We will advise on lead times and practical alternatives where needed.

We also help with installation supervision, commissioning, operator training and maintenance programmes. That support matters when your team is new to the equipment or when the site runs through load-shedding and needs a clear operating routine.

Support for New Projects and Ongoing Operations

John F Marshall has been serving agriculture and industry since 2009, with poultry projects across South Africa from a Gauteng base in Jet Park, Boksburg. Our team works under John Frederick Marshall and includes operations, project, technical sales, service, procurement and training support so requests can move without being passed around too much.

If your quote request is part of a wider project, we can help with site planning, equipment selection, house layouts, installation supervision, commissioning, operator training, maintenance programmes, spares supply, processing room fitout and expansion upgrades. That gives you one point of contact for the practical side of the job.

  • Direct support from quote to commissioning
  • Spare parts and consumables sourced through the same team
  • Practical advice for South African conditions
  • Service support for existing poultry operations

Send the brief when you are ready. If it is only a few lines that is fine too, we will take it from there and come back with pricing that makes sense for your site and your budget.
