The people who keep poultry projects moving

John F Marshall has been serving agriculture and industry since 2009, with our base in Jet Park, Boksburg and projects across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Free State and KwaZulu-Natal. The team works across laying-hen cages, incubators, brooders, feeders, drinkers, abattoir equipment and full poultry project support, so clients get one point of contact from planning through to handover.

We are a small enough team to stay practical, but with the right spread of skills for site work, technical advice, procurement, training and service. That matters on farms where time is tight, power cuts are real, and every metre of house space has to count.

  • Site planning and house layouts
  • Equipment selection and procurement
  • Installation supervision and commissioning
  • Operator training and maintenance support

Leadership with years on the ground

John Frederick Marshall, Managing Director, founded the business in 2009 and still keeps a close eye on the practical side of the work. He understands poultry systems, processing rooms and project delivery from the ground up, and he is known for straight answers, clear decisions and proper follow-through. That approach has shaped the way the whole team works.

John’s focus is simple: supply equipment that suits the site, fit it correctly, and make sure the client knows how to run it day to day. He is often involved in early project discussions, especially where new builds or expansion upgrades need careful phasing around production schedules.

Operations and projects coordination

Lerato Mokoena, Operations Manager, keeps the moving parts in order. She manages internal workflows, checks that deliveries and site schedules line up, and makes sure clients are kept informed when timelines shift. In a business like this, good operations save money and avoid delays, especially when equipment is travelling long distances.

Sibusiso Dlamini, Projects Coordinator, handles the day-to-day coordination of poultry projects and installations. He works closely with site teams, contractors and clients to make sure each step is done in the right order. From initial measurements to final commissioning, Sibusiso helps keep the job practical and on track. He is particularly useful when sites have limited access or tight build windows.

  • Delivery checks and installation timing
  • Progress updates for clients and contractors

Technical advice that fits the site

Anika van der Merwe, Technical Sales Manager, helps clients choose the right equipment for the house, the flock size and the processing plan. She looks at airflow, capacity, housing layout, labour requirements and maintenance access before recommending a setup. That matters because the wrong choice can cost more in the long run, even if it looks cheaper on day one.

Anika also supports turnkey poultry projects where the client needs guidance on house layout, equipment selection and expansion planning. She understands the pressure of load-shedding, coastal humidity and local municipal requirements, and she factors those realities into the recommendation. Her work is detailed, and sometimes it saves a client from an expensive redo later on.

Service, spares and after-sales support

Thabo Nkosi, Service Supervisor, leads after-sales support, maintenance visits and technical follow-ups. He works with the team to keep equipment running properly, and he is often the person clients call when they need a fault checked, a part identified or a service plan put together. On active poultry sites, quick response matters because downtime can become costly fast.

Nadine Jacobs, Procurement Officer, makes sure the right spares and components are sourced and ordered on time. She keeps track of supplier lead times, stock levels and replacements needed for ongoing maintenance programmes. Her role is especially important for sites that need steady spare parts supply, because waiting for a small item can hold up a whole operation.

  • Spares sourcing and order control
  • Maintenance programmes for running sites
  • Support for repairs, replacements and upgrades

Training that helps teams run equipment properly

Musa Cele, Training and Support Lead, works with operators and farm staff after installation so they know how to use the equipment properly. He covers daily checks, cleaning routines, safe operation and practical maintenance. That kind of support is not just helpful, it helps protect output, reduce wear and keep people confident on site.

Musa also supports processing room fitouts and abattoir equipment handover, where correct use and hygiene routines are critical. He explains the job in plain language and stays focused on what staff need to do each day. Clients value that because good training often makes the difference between a system that looks good on paper and one that actually performs. Its the sort of support that keeps a project useful long after installation.

Questions we get asked

Do you only work in Gauteng?

No. Our head office is in Jet Park, Boksburg, but we handle poultry projects and equipment supply across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Free State and KwaZulu-Natal.

Who do I speak to about a new poultry house or expansion?

For new houses, layout planning and equipment choice, start with Anika van der Merwe or Sibusiso Dlamini. They will help map the project and line up the next steps.

Can your team help after installation?

Yes. We support commissioning, operator training, maintenance programmes, spares supply and service follow-up so the equipment stays practical to use on a working site.
